1st Quarter Reflections

We have reached the end of 1st Quarter...can you believe it?! Now take a moment to reflect on what you have learned so far. Some questions to consider:

What are your personal struggles in ELA? Successes in ELA?
Where are you in your personal Book Challenge?
How have your blogs been progressing since August?
What strategies have benefited you?
What have you learned about the world?
How has your writing progressed?
What are your goals for ELA for the next three quarters?

Make sure to include a topic sentence and supporting details that fully support your main idea. This blog must be at least 3 paragraphs.

Life Lines Found Poetry for OBAA

Remember all those life lines you have been collecting throughout your reading of Of Beetles and Angels?! Well, today they will be put to good use. You will be writing a found poem using the life lines from OBAA.

Broadly speaking, all poetry is "found" somewhere, in something that inspires a writer to want to develop his or her thoughts in verse. Found poetry is a type of poetry created by taking words, phrases, and observations about life and reframing them by making changes in spacing and lines, or by adding or deleting text, thus creating a new meaning.

As you are creating your found poem, keep in mind that it should connect to one of the themes that was interwoven throughout Mawi's memoir.
